So what have I been up to these days? The weather in Squamish has been absolutely amazing this winter. Winter in Squamish is usually associated with torrential rain, grey skies, and low spirits for a rock climber; but this winter the unthinkable happened, sun and lots of it. I normally get a few days here and there during the winter, but this year was off the hook! The extraordinary weather was a real treat and I took full advantage of it, climbing as much as my body would allow.
My good buddy Tim Emmett, who I am working Dreamcatcher with, also sent Permanent Waves, which was great to see. It is one of my favorite climbs in Squamish!
I then went on a little adventure with Tim Emmett and Klem Premrl. We drove north from Squamish, passed Whistler to Narin Falls. We were desperate to do a bit of ice climbing in an interesting setting and this place was wild. Here are some photos I took from of Tim and Klem. This was my first ice lead, climbing over a raging waterfall, and I must admit I was a little nervous! #scary
Ice climbing is very fun but everything is very serious! I am really glad I did not fall when climbing! I would have fallen into the water and either gone off the second falls or drowned. Good times!
Hope you enjoyed my mid winter review and my photos!
